A couple of weeks ago Brad and I took a road trip to Colorado to photograph Alysha & Matt’s wedding! It was the first time I did BOTH video and photography — it was actually the first time I attempted video, haha! It was such a blast & videography is now a new passion of mine! There is a small video preview at the bottom of this post from their big day.
Their wedding was on a Sunday, but we wanted to arrive a couple days early. That Saturday we went with the bridal party to Garden of the Gods for a morning hike to enjoy the scenery and hang out together. Since it was a spot that Matt & Alysha wanted to do pictures at on their wedding day, I used it as an opportunity to location scout. It was just gorgeous and made me even more excited to shoot there! The morning of their wedding began around 6am, and started with me doing Alysha’s makeup (which was really fun), and getting some shots of her putting on her dress and hanging with her bridesmaids (who were all sisters). We then headed out the door to do a “first look” at a cool lookout spot, and then we traipsed around Garden of the Gods for some epic portraits. We ended pictures on her Uncle’s ranch with the family & bridal party that overlooked a valley with a few mountains in the far distance. So pretty!
I love the simplistic beauty of Alysha & Matt’s wedding — especially her bridal gown! I also LOVED shooting in Colorado and can’t wait for the chance to do so again!
Their day was filled with joy & laughter & they had the best dance party at their reception I’ve ever been to!
